This marks the second-consecutive season the 49ers host the Seahawks on a Thursday night. The Niners have won five out of the last six home games against the Seahawks. The 49ers split last season’s series against Arizona and have won 10 out of the last 12 meetings overall. San Francisco owns the overall series record vs. Arizona, 29-18, including a advantage on the road.

Against Los Angeles, Smith completed 71.8% of his passes for 367 yards and three touchdowns. The 2015 season was the San Francisco 49ers' 66th in the National Football League, the 70th overall, second playing their home games at Levi's Stadium, and the only season under head coach Jim Tomsula. It felt like last week’s game against the Seahawks was the Rams’ Super Bowl. Their defense, led by Bobby Wagner, played with insane energy and their offense came out firing. Now reality sets in against a Raiders defensive front that is suddenly balling, led by Chandler Jones’ 19 pressures in the last two weeks. Rams quarterback John Wolford has a neck injury and recently claimed Baker Mayfield just arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

However, I don't trust this Pats offense to be cohesive enough to make it a comfortable win. Look for this to be a defensive-minded game, with both offensive lines’ weakness in pass protection short-circuiting drives. Josh Allen is better equipped to overcome quick pressure. He is not the point guard he was advertised to be. White is closer to a taller Ryan Fitzpatrick with a bigger arm, unafraid to swing for the fences.
Ian Williams missed the entire year and Dorsey was injured. Mangini will have no answers for the Lions offense which will be the deciding factor. The 49ers will go up against the two coordinators they spurned for the management friendly option. It won’t be pretty and could very well be the team’s worst loss. This should be a win, but the Rams have a habit of making things difficult for the 49ers and pulling out a win in the process. – The 49ers are not replacing the 2011 versions of Justin Smith, Frank Gore, Mike Iupati, Crabtree and Patrick Willis.
Opponent Touchdown Log
The NFL has been able to turn this into an impressively popular event, putting together a primetime release on NFL Network. There will be some leaks between now and the release, but we are unlikely to learn more than two or three tidbits of the schedule before then. Could go many directions here, but we'll go with the Cincinnati Bengals matchup at home. This one figures to be a major challenge against a playoff-caliber club that has lost two Super Bowls at the hands of San Francisco.

It’s hard to trust the Rams’ offense to score enough no matter who plays quarterback. This will be a tough matchup for the Seahawks. Carolina’s pass defense is playing at a high level, with Jaycee Horn and Jeremy Chinn’s return matching an improved pass rush.

This Denver defense is stout, but the pass rush has declined thanks to injuries and the Bradley Chubb trade. It’s possible the Broncos slow the pace of play on both sides down to a crawl to keep the score relatively low. Buffalo hasn’t been one for blowouts this year, owning more outright losses than double-digit wins since Josh Allen suffered that elbow injury against the Jets. Conversely, New York has suffered just three losses since September — all by seven or fewer points — and has seen its offense come alive under Mike White.

One of the model's strongest Week 14 NFL picks is that the Titans (-3.5) cover the spread at home against the Jaguars. The Titans have dominated this AFC South rivalry over the years. In fact, Tennessee has won nine of its last 10 meetings with the Jaguars. The Philadelphia Eagles found a new top gear in New York, hanging 48 on a Giants team that’s leaking oil like a ’72 Chevelle. In the Bay Area, Brock “Don’t Call Me Irrelevant” Purdy and the 49ers made a statement with a 35-7 dismantling of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Of the six teams playing in London in 2015, only the Dolphins cracked the top-6 in travel miles. The other five slots belong to teams in either the AFC West or NFC West. Jim Tomsula will lead the 49ers into a 16-game schedule against teams from the NFC West, NFC North and AFC North. In addition, we know by way of the NFL's rotating schedule which teams from the NFC South and NFC East that San Francisco will face home and away.

In one game they completely ran out of running backs. Even if the 49ers lose each of the games they “should” lose and lose two of the games they “should” win, that results in a 10-6 record. As I said in the other thread, until games start getting played we can’t know for sure how strong/ hard the schedule is going to be, nor how good the 49ers will be. Much like last year's Thanksgiving Day matchup, the 49ers were unable to stop the defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. Colin Kaepernick struggled all game long and he was sacked six times, much like Week 4 against Green Bay, where the 49ers were also only held to a field goal.
In the 49ers' first game with new head coach Jim Tomsula, the 49ers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 20–3 on Monday Night Football. In his first career start, Carlos Hyde rushed 26 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Hyde's 168 rushing yards were the most by a 49ers player since 2012, when Colin Kaepernick rushed for 181 against the Packers.
I go back and forth about whether they will draft a RB high. Having drafted Hyde last year, another high pick at RB would certainly be a luxury. The combo of Wilhoite and Bowman are better than last year’s MLB combos (Wilhoite/Willis, Wilhoite/Borland). Losing Willis sucks as he was awesome, but Bowman is better. So, it’s still an improvement to last year’s lineup. Ex – I was just using those examples of how other posters/Grant were finding fault with the team.
The 49ers were also without tight end Vernon Davis, who was traded to the Denver Broncos, after nine and a half seasons with the team. With yet another tough loss, the 49ers dropped to 1–3, and were outscored by a total of 110–48 in their first 4 games. By the end of week 4, the 49ers were last in the league in total points scored.

The Raiders are another team that has been playing better lately, but they still have plenty of issues, including the defensive side of the football and winning close games. The final result shouldn’t obfuscate the fact that Tampa Bay’s offense ranks 27th in points per game (18.1) ahead of Sunday’s test against the best defense in the league by virtually any metric. Purdy showed the ability to play point guard last week surrounded by offensive superstars, which is all San Francisco needs to win this one comfortably. As we wait for the schedule, I thought I'd open the floor for predictions on how many prime time games the 49ers will get this year.
